An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced GSE Maintenance Supervisor to lead and support workshop operations at Western Sydney International Airport. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on leadership position and enjoys working in a dynamic, fast-paced aviation environment.
You will oversee a team responsible for the maintenance and repair of Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and airport service vehicles.
About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Operations, you will manage the day-to-day activities of the workshop, ensuring maintenance tasks are completed safely, efficiently and in line with operational needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and guide GSE technicians in inspection, maintenance and repair activities.
- Plan, prioritise and schedule maintenance to minimise downtime and ensure operational readiness.
- Oversee work orders and ensure all tasks meet safety, manufacturer and industry standards.
- Manage invoicing, reporting and administrative processes using internal systems.
- Maintain strong understanding of GSE pooling operations and workflows.
- Implement OEM service bulletins and related technical updates.
- Mentor, train and assess technicians to support performance, safety and professional development.
- Conduct performance reviews and manage corrective actions where needed.
- Coordinate rosters, shift coverage and overtime requirements.
- Lead safety compliance, including audits and toolbox meetings.
- Identify and drive opportunities for continuous improvement in maintenance processes and equipment reliability.
- Work collaboratively with operations teams to align maintenance with service and flight schedules.
- Proven leadership experience within a maintenance or workshop environment.
- Mechanical or Electrical trade qualification (minimum Certificate III).
- Ability to obtain airport security clearance.
- Current driver's licence and valid passport.
- Willingness to participate in drug and alcohol testing in line with aviation requirements.
- Flexibility to travel domestically and internationally when required.
- Be part of a major national aviation project.
- Lead a key workshop function with autonomy and support.
- Work with a diverse range of GSE and airport vehicles.
- Contribute to safety, efficiency and continuous improvement across a critical operational environment.
