Electrical Technician – Battery & Charging Technologies

The Company:

A leading distributor and service provider of specialised equipment solutions across the transport and infrastructure sectors is seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Technician to join their team in Brisbane AND Sydney. This role supports cutting-edge battery and charging technologies for a globally recognised OEM partner.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on technician with a strong electrical background who enjoys autonomy, travel, and the chance to work with innovative technologies in a customer-focused environment.

About the Role:

You’ll be responsible for the service, repair, and technical support of charging equipment and associated systems in Rail and Aviaton. The role includes remote diagnostics, site-based support, and implementation of OEM service bulletins. You’ll work closely with clients to troubleshoot and resolve issues while maintaining high safety and service delivery standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform maintenance, diagnostics, and minor repairs on electrical equipment
  • Provide remote and onsite support for charging systems
  • Troubleshoot and identify root causes of electrical faults
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics and OEM documentation
  • Implement upgrades and service bulletins as issued by OEMs
  • Maintain an organised service schedule and achieve high billable utilisation
  • Interact professionally with customers, operators, and site managers
  • Participate in domestic and occasional international travel as required
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Valid Electrical Licence (essential)
  • Experience with battery and charging systems
  • Ability to read and diagnose from electrical schematics (e.g., CanBus)
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated with strong time management
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or public holidays
  • Valid Australian Driver’s Licence
  • Willingness to undergo drug and alcohol screening
  • Ability to travel as required
Advantageous:
  • Experience with electric mobile equipment or lifting systems
  • Experience in defence or airside environments
  • Commercial airside passes
