About the Role
Reporting directly to the General Manager ANZ, this is a newly created role designed to capitalise on the growing demand within the Queensland market.
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for developing and executing strategic growth initiatives, expanding the client base, and strengthening relationships with key stakeholders in the defence and industrial sectors.
This position offers the flexibility of remote work with occasional travel for client meetings and industry events.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive new business development efforts, identifying and securing opportunities in the defence, aerospace, industrial, and mining sectors.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with engineers, procurement teams, and decision-makers within target organisations.
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve revenue growth targets.
- Provide technical insight and tailored solutions to meet customer requirements, with support from internal product specialists.
- Manage the full sales cycle, from lead generation to contract negotiation and account management.
- Leverage industry networks and market intelligence to position the company as a trusted supply partner.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including product management and supply chain, to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Extensive business development or sales experience in electronic components, defence, aerospace, or a related industry.
- Proven track record of winning and managing high-value accounts within complex sales cycles.
- Strong understanding of electronic component distribution, supply chain solutions, and industry-specific compliance requirements.
- Ability to work autonomously, manage priorities, and drive growth initiatives independently.
- Experience engaging with defence primes, subcontractors, and industrial customers.
- A technical mindset with the ability to communicate effectively with engineers and procurement professionals.
- Existing networks within the defence, aerospace, or industrial sectors will be highly regarded.
